** Official 2019-2020 Montreal Canadiens Thread **

Stop trolling. NHL players don't waive their NTC/NMC... especially not goaltenders. You think Fleury waived both his NMC and NTC to end up in the expansion draft and head to Las Vegas? What kind of dumb dumb are you... hello? And anyways, it's not like he has family in the area or his wife is from the area or he has playing history in the area, so why the hell would he go and waive his NMC. Honestly can't believe you are even having this conversation.

so did fleury waive is nmc to go to vegas or not? just answer that question

Yes sir he did, he had to.

For those wondering what a No Movement Clause actually means in the NHL, I can assure you it doesn't only mean that they can't be put on waivers as was falsely propagated in this thread. Hard to have a valid conversation when one side of the discussion doesn't have the foundation of the argument correct. So to clear the air:

A player with a NMC cannot be traded without his approval.
A player with a NMC cannot be placed on waivers without his approval.
A player with a NMC cannot be assigned to the minors without his approval.
A player with a NMC is not exempt from a buyout or contract termination.

To think we were being called out for suggesting Price would end up in Seattle only to be told he can't becausue he has a NMC, only to later find out the person calling us out thought a NMC thought it only applied to waiver eligibility. Lol, MR at its best.

You STILL dont understand it lol.
Price has a FULL NMC which means he cannot be traded or waived without him giving the thumbs up. He has 100% of the control.
Fleure had an NMC AND a M-NTC. This is the part you're skipping over because of your ego.
The M-NTC is what gave the Penguins the RIGHT to trade Fleury to any of the teams he previously approved when he signed. They could have negotiated with whoever they wanted of that list and trade Fleury away.
Fleury did NOT need to waive his NMC for the trade to happen, it would have happened whether he liked it or not.
He waived his NMC for Vegas ONLY because it was mandatory for the expansion draft.

Otherwise if he has an NMC in his contract, what's the point of negotiating a M-NTC if the NMC supersedes everything like you say? M-NTC gives flexibility to the owners even if the player has an NMC.
