Pink line is a go

yavais des tramway partout en 1920 pi on les a tous enlever pour faire place aux voitures. la ya trop de voiture, on rajoute des tramway.

make sens.

Lol except tunnels cost a shit ton to build. Elon doesn't live in reality. Cities need cheap and easy to build transport systems with what works. Not some wacky ideas

Yesterday's wacky ideas are today's reality.

Really, budget is not a valid excuse. Our society is designed to create resource scarcity. The US throws $160 billion worth of food in the trash every year. That alone could go a long way... But meh..

So invest in unproven transportation from a snake oil salesman? Actually that's really the Montreal thing to do! What needed is affordable mass rapid transit using existing technologies. It's cheap to use, easy to build, easy to operate. We need it now, we also shouldn't have to pay 30billion for it it.

Agreed, I actually haven't heard anything about Musk and tunnels aside from the fact that he built one on his own property. Just ranting as usual.

The announcement also said "high capacity surface transit" so it could also mean a bus lane along Victoria in Lachine for the 496 to run on. The old tracks run from ville st Pierre to 18th Ave. The city is planning to use the former water works plant on Victoria/32nd as a public transit terminus. The new 720 or whatever it's called will have a provision for "surface transport"

Right now there is no real plan but just an announcement of funding. Imo they need to get moving on this fast while the turcot area is under construction.
