Ferrari 488 GTB Revealed

Ferrari has unveiled the new 488 GTB with a 660 horsepower twin-turbo V8 motor to replace the 458 which was released back in 2009. The 458’s bold styling still looks brand new but with the release of the Lamborghini Huracan and McLaren 650S, Ferrari needs to freshen things up a little bit.

GTB stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta and was last used on the 599GTB which was produced from 2006-2012. The 3.9 litre twin-turbo V8 is brand new and unique to the 488 GTB.  It produces 660 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 560 pound-feet of torque.

Ferrari has also made numerous improvements to aerodynamics, downforce (the 488 has 50% more vs the 458) and added a Variable Torque Management system which will sent the power more smoothly to the wheels.

The new Ferrari 488 GTB will make its world debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show March 3.
