2016 Honda Civic May Get Type R Engine or More!
Honda has revealed to a site called MotoryRacing that it intends to significantly update the North American Civic for the 2016 model year with the addition of a Type R motor. The company intends to keep the Civic Si intact so we can speculate that there might be a new trim level to accommodate this motor.
Honda will soon release a new Civic Type R (only available overseas) for 2015 containing a 276 horsepower 2.0-litre turbo engine. Only the concept version of this car has been shown to the public thus far at this year’s Paris Auto Show (click for more coverage & photos). It’ll be a variation of this motor that makes its way to our shores for the 2016 Civic.
Could we actually see another Type R in North America? Honda plans to announce the details next spring.
