Buying car with proxy form.. Seller kind of shady

I'm looking to purchase a car today and I have the option to pick it up as I will be getting it towed anyway..

My question is this guy says the car isn't under his name because he has 3-4 cars (how does that make sense..) the car is under his friends name

I've sold and bought a car with proxy form more than got to saaq but this guy makes me nervous

Wat can I do to be entirely sure to not get scammed? Any way too see if he's suspended?

I only had an issue once with proxy form as seller mistyped her reference number.. I had to call and get it back

Seller has allowed me to take a copy of the license.. Is that safe enough? Anything else I could do to be safe?

I would not take a day off from tuesday to go transfer ( worst case scenario I do that)

That does sound sketch but if the car is not in his name the owner of the needs to give you all his info. You are the one representing him.

you should have the owner # on the proxy, give him a call!
