We had the driving pet peeves thread from like 2010 which was more of the usual peeves: Drivers not using their flashers, changing lanes in the middle of an intersection, etc.
This is stuff inside your cars that bothers you.
Examples.
Corolla:
Has driver's side power seat but no seat/side mirrors memory/recall function. What's the point?
Has a phone wireless charging pad but Android Auto (and Apple Car Play) has to be connected via USB and thereby charging to work. Again, what's the point?
Rear hatch can't be opened from inside the car - like ever. No kidnap handle, no button, nothing. To make matters worse, if the drivers' seatbelt is on, the external release button also won't work if the engine is running. In other words, the driver HAS to get up and out of the car to open the trunk for example when dropping off a passenger at 2AM after a Poker game but wait - it gets better. Because you're getting out of the car with the keyless ignition dongle in your pocket, the car will also loudly chirp at you. At 2AM...
The Exotic (Abarth124/Miata):
Opening/closing the soft-top with the engine off automatically rolls down the windows 1/3 of the way. To roll the windows back up after opening/closing the soft top, you have to start the engine or set the ignition to ON.
Has 2 USB ports directly under the infotainment system but they cannot charge any recent phone. They are "Designed to be used with USB memory sticks for music playback." WTF? So you have to use the 12v out which is located near the passenger's left FOOT. Yes that far under the dash.
Has keyless entry and distance based auto door lock (locks the doors on its own when you walk away from the car) UNLESS you've opened the trunk. If you just step out of the car, close the doors, walk directly over to the trunk and open it, the doors will NOT lock when you walk away. Why?
Now your turn.
