Donald John Trump is no longer president: what does it mean for you?

Then I may not be reading the same news source as you. Link?

Obamacare isn't the entire healthcare system of the US. People covered under Obamacare are less than 10% of the entire population as per the last data I've seen.

Universal healthcare is a noble goal... but the US system is fucked, insurers have been pulling out of many states because premiums aren't sustainable and the "affordability" to non-insurable people goes through the roof. This is not because of Trump.

I quite like his presidential idea of just letting the entire US healthcare system collapse.

That is the point of Obamacare anyway: work with the insurance companies so that avg costs of insurance are so high (by including previously non-insurable people) that the public screams for a single payer system therefore increasing the democrat voting base and making the govt pay the insurance companies directly.

They're referencing Trump's comment that if the Republicans can't get this repeal and replace bill through, he's inclined to do nothing and let Obamacare "implode" as he claims is going to happen or simply pass a repeal bill with a 2 year phase in period so that Democrats will come to the negotiating table and get a bill through if things get bad enough.

So far his plan seems to consist of undoing everything Obama has done. If he could, he would un-kill Ben Laden.

Frankly, for all the big talk about undoing Obama's work, he hasn't done it besides withdrawing from the Paris Accord.
There are a few things in the works that could happen like delisting some national parks and opening them up for natural resource development.

right. I'm saying that Obamacare isn't the entire US healthcare system, big extrapolation here.

You're right it's not, I don't think anyone knows for sure how eliminating it would affect the other insurance offering. Keep in mind Obamacare was more than just the healthcare exchanges, the individual mandate, and pre-existing conditions. It also expanded medicaid for a lot of states and they really don't want to be cutting medicaid services or raise state taxes.

He withdrew from the TPP, denounced the Iran nuclear deal, lifted the moratorium on coal leasing on federal lands, gave the go-ahead for the Keystone XL pipeline, reversed most environmental policies, as well as signing these executive orders:
"Restoring the Rule of Law, Federalism, and Economic Growth by Reviewing the 'Waters of the U.S.' Rule"

Signed Feb. 28, 2017

The order calls on federal agencies to revise a regulation put in place by former president Barack Obama called the Clean Water Rule. Signed in 2015, the rule expanded the number of bodies of water protected by the federal government to include streams, ponds and smaller waterways.

Trump's order directs the administrator of the EPA and the assistant secretary of the Army for Civil Works to review the rule and propose a new one that either eliminates or revises Obama's rule.

"The Revocation of Federal Contracting Executive Orders"

Signed: March 27, 2017

The executive order revokes key components of the Obama administration's previous executive order banning federal contractors from discriminating against employees on the basis of sexual orientation or identity, gay rights advocates say.

Organizations representing the LGBTQ community say the "Presidential Executive Order on the Revocation of Federal Contracting Executive Orders" hobbles several of Obama's previous orders including the "Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces" order by revoking the requirement that companies seeking federal contracts prove they've complied with federal laws banning discrimination based on sexual identity or orientation.

"Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth"

Signed: March 28, 2017

The order directs the Environmental Protection Agency to review another executive order, called the Clean Power Plan, signed by Barack Obama in 2014. Obama's plan, which aimed to reduce carbon pollution from power plants, was halted by the Supreme Court in 2016.

Trump's new order also asks agencies to review any regulations that could "potentially burden the development or use" of oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy resources. Within 180 days, the agencies must submit reports to the Office of Management and Budget, which will take action to eliminate regulations.

"Review of Designations Under the Antiquities Act"

Signed: April 26, 2017

The order directs the Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke to review federal monument designations — including national parks — made since 1996 that cover more than 100,000 acres of land. Under the 1906 Antiquities Act, presidents have the power to protect land.

Trump's order names one national monument designation in particular: Obama's 1.35 million-acre Bears Ears National Monument in Utah. Zinke must submit a report to Trump within 45 days.

"Implementing an America-First Offshore Energy Strategy"

Signed: April 28, 2017

The order reverses a ban on Arctic leasing put in place under the Obama administration in December and directs Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to review areas available for off-shore oil and gas exploration.

“We are unleashing American energy and clearing the way for thousands and thousands of high-paying American energy jobs,” President Trump said during the announcement.

"Amending Executive Order 13597"

Signed: June 21, 2017

The order amends an executive order issued by the Obama administration on visa and foreign visitor processing that aimed "to enhance and expedite travel to and arrival in the United States by foreign nationals."

It eliminates the clause that required 80 percent of non-immigrant visa applicants to be interviewed within three weeks of application receipt, and calls on the secretaries of State and Homeland Security to revise the visa expediting implementation plan laid out in Obama's order "as necessary and appropriate."

He withdrew from the TPP, denounced the Iran nuclear deal, lifted the moratorium on coal leasing on federal lands, reversed most environmental policies, as well as signing these executive orders:

Fair enough about TPP, the Iran nuclear deal he denounced it but recertified it today, he's pursuing other sanctions in regards to their missile development.

Majority of the executive orders are just ordering reviews and a lot of the shit under the Trump presidency would have been expected from any Republican president.

Reason ACA has not gained momentum and is stagnant is because of republicans badmouthing it since before it began, keeping people away from it, if everyone eligible for ACA would have signed on, the premiums would have been spread out over a much larger base and would have been quite affordable, spreading any negative impact over a much larger base and becoming actually something that insurance companies would have wanted to be a part of, instead the republicans did a good job of being pricks and keeping people away from it, so now the few that are on it are screwed.

Irony of ironies, now they cant get rid of it Ha!

It was never in the Republican interested to have ACA succeed regardless of the good it could do and the individual mandate penalty aren't harsh enough to force healthy people into the market.

Republicans=lobbyists for big pharma, of course they didnt want to put a ceiling on how much profit they could make by adopting the ACA.

Trump has an exclusive interview with failing NYT last night that's part of the fake media.
Bashes his AG Sessions, says if he had known he was going to recuse himself from the Russia investigation he never would have appointed him.
When asked if there was a red line Mueller shouldn't cross or risk being fired, says he shouldn't go beyond scope of Russia stuff, he says not look into his money and businesses.
News today that Mueller is in fact, looking into Trump's past business dealings.

Someone's going to quit or get fired by the end of this week.

I'm surprised no one commented on this transgender ban from the army.

Meh, nothing is shocking anymore. Are they going to discharge present transgender servicemen/women? Also it's a Trump tweet, who knows if that has any legal standing.

Depends if pre or post-op, he wants to avoid the costs!
