Money = king

Merc can't afford to throw that much money at the problem

And Ferrari = conservative old fashioned thinking dumbasses in some respects.
It's in their own right, it's what makes them Ferrari, which is fine I guess.

Mercedes can absolutely toss money at the problem. The question is if its worth it to them and Ratcliffe moving forward.

Ferrari has their own system but Elkann is in a power struggle against the board. Even though he is literally Angelli family. I read in Italian media that the board feels Hamilton cost too much money and Charles is their boy. Rumour is Ferrari is going after mercedes people

Newey doesnt really bring anything new to the
Table but bragging rights and is an anchor to attract more talent via crew and drivers.

Apparently Alonso has a contract to be still involved in the organisation whenever he retires as a driver

Major Lawrence Stroll impact unearthed amid huge Newey and Verstappen swoop

- Lawrence Stroll is considered “the most convincing” person in the F1 paddock by Mike Krack, which seems relevant amidst reports that Aston Martin has secured Adrian Newey, beating Ferrari to his signature.

- Stroll's successful recruitment drive includes key figures like Enrico Cardile from Ferrari, who will be Aston Martin's Chief Technical Officer from 2025, and Andy Cowell, former Mercedes engine boss, who will become Group Chief Executive Officer in October.

- According to AutoSprint, Stroll's negotiations might not stop there. He is reportedly in talks with Max Verstappen, aiming to bring the triple World Champion to Aston Martin by 2026.

- Stroll even gave Newey a private tour of Aston Martin's state-of-the-art facilities, leading to Newey reportedly accepting a $100 million deal to join the team, with confirmation expected in September.

- Stroll is so determined to sign Verstappen that he would consider moving his son Lance to Aston Martin's WEC program to make room for the Dutch driver.

- Negotiations with Verstappen are already underway, which could be a significant blow to Mercedes and Toto Wolff, who have shown interest in Verstappen all season.

- Aston Martin team boss Krack emphasized Stroll’s effectiveness in convincing top talents, stating:

"Lawrence is the most convincing [person] of anyone in the paddock. He is very strong in it, but it is not only words."

- Krack highlighted the impressive developments at Aston Martin, including their state-of-the-art factory and wind tunnel, as well as Cowell's high opinion of Honda, indicating a promising future under Stroll’s leadership.

“If you look [at the factory], it is very impressive what is happening there, the factory and wind tunnel is state-of-the-art and Andy has a high opinion of Honda.”

“There are a lot of elements in the mix that can promise a good future as Group CEO.”

So I might be right after all

I think that might just be fake info, Lawrence as always been pretty clear, if his son isn’t racing, he won’t stay in f1 too long. But who knows, with that much money invested, things might have changed lol

As a parent this is something that is always in the back of your mind but any activity that you enjoy as a hobby whether your kids are involved or not can become addictive and the competitive side comes out. He might say that but deep down he's probably enjoying it too much to let it all go.

Ooof that's going to cost some points for MB. Funny thing though the pace car also crashed. Not sure what's going on with the track? They went to flat kerbs instead of the angled ones. I wonder if that is throwing some drivers off.
Why would that cost some points?
