"I met the organizers of the series and for me, it's a done deal. It is no longer whether, but when it will happen. I tell you that it will happen. There will be a Formula E race here in Montreal. A race in September 2016 would be a good rehearsal for the 375th anniversary of Montreal a year after, "said Mayor Coderre.

Mr. Coderre admitted, however, that nothing had been signed yet. However, he added that an agreement needed not necessary to be written. "I tell you that it's coming," Coderre insisted.

One question concerns the location of the race. Will it be held one the Gilles Villeneuve circuit of Île Notre-Dame or on the city streets, as required by the sporting regulations of the Formula E series?

As a fan of Formula E and Motorsports I firmly believe it's time we have the race away from CGV and have it on actual city streets. I am salivating.. I have a couple configurations in mind.

D'après moi ça va être à l'extérieur du CGV, sinon il va falloir dropper la course de Nascar. Les contrats sont très restrictif sur le nombre de courses possibles.

NASCAR hasn't raced here since 2012 ...
London is having their race at Battersea Park.. Imagine having our race around Jean mance or lafountaine park? Just examples.. I feel a race around places des arts or even down in old mtl on paved sections could be fucking epic

You still need a pretty wide street to have the starts and pit lane...

René Levesque at the feet of the Hydro-Quebec building? That would be quite figting, I think. Then have them run around the downtown area...

they require street circuits with a good amount of braking zones due to the regenerative braking systems. The speeds aren't high but the racing is thus far good.. I actually call it the "F1 Reject Racing League" with names such as Piquet Jr, Di Grassi, Beumi, Speed, Alguersuari and the lot :D

Make parc avenue the start/finish straight and have them go up mt-royal or go around the plateau ( and have them drive on saint Denis/saint laurent/av. Des pins)

Wow sa serai vraiment hot dans les rue !

En plus win/win situation . Il vont refaire les rue en question pour la course = enfin quelque rue qui vont avoir de lalure

Haha a tour around the mountain, parc, pins, fun corners to take, that'd be great.

Hope they have plenty of spare tires, link kits and struts hanging around in their trailers...

That would make more sense than downtown. Because the office towers cannot close for three full days with no access.

We already have a nice race on a city circuit in trois-riviere why not use it and do it there. I was thinking about it last week-end while watching the race. Since they split the race on 2 week end maybe they could add it, that would be a nice event for them.

finally something exciting. f1 is so fucken lame this year.we NEED this and i'm crossing my fingers for motoGP

you guys are on crack. You think Mtl would allow races to happen on the streets ??? LOL

1) Please think of the children
2) BIXI
3) Streets are terrible, would require millions in investment just to fix the pot holes and man holes
4) Motorsport were invented by the devil
5) Money should be spent on free bikes and growing trees on rood tops
etc
etc
