Sooooo, now that I've got a boat load of parts, I figured I would start installing some. First order of business was the lifters as they were driving me nuts. Removed the valve cover, everything seemed in order:
Notice how HUGE the difference is in the oil ports for the old and new lifters:
Bolted everything back up, installed new spark plugs and gasket kit, changed the oil, and went for a drive in the snow storm...once all the lifters pressurized, no more ticking! Car sounds and runs like new again! I may or may not have decided to go driving where the snow was higher than the hood of the car lol
Next order of business was to try and fit the Status seats I had picked up. Got the side mounts and the sliders from Perry performance. Great price, great service! So I took the OEM seats out and immediately noticed an issue....Stupid me, I didn't purchase any floor mount plates. So my OEM sliders clearly weren't bolting to the floor. But then I noticed that the OEM rails simply unbolted from the OEM seats...super clean as if Mitsubishi figured people would probably want to change out the seats lol.
So one seat out, ready for test fitting...
Realized my Universal side mounts would need some "customizing" to mount to the OEM rails... So I drilled a few holes
And finally, voila! Status seats on OMP mounts, on OEM rails!
Going to leave the driver's seat OEM for now, as the seat is tight, and I won't be able to fit in it with snow pants etc lol. Plus I don't want to put unnecessary wear on the seat during winter.
So that's it for now! Decided that I would wait until March to install any new bushings or control arms. Currently on the look out for a good deal on tires. Once that's done, I'll be installing suspension, test fitting wheels, and taking measurements for spacers and fenders...then order fenders and start chopping up the fenders!
