Would not touch a 1980s Mustang with a ten foot pole. Been there - done that.

Would you believe me if I told you my 1981 Capri RS Turbo was a Mercury branded Mustang?

Would you believe it was the most abysmally unreliable POS car I ever owned - worse than two Hyundais?

It was at the mechanic literally every other week.

don't compare a 4cyl to a 5.0 it's not the same at all.

Any rust on those cars is terrifying. I'd check the front frame rails where the suspension is...

You would be shocked. There are people out there that think you can daily drive such old cars. It's hilarious

I daily drove mine for one summer. It was fun, reliable and I will do it again. It's dead simple, mostly reliable. Front frame rails and rear control arms are important checks to make. Subframe connectors are a must.

Blabla I wouldn't touch a rebranded mazda with a ten foot pole either. My buddy's 1980 Capri is running great with it's 4.2 v8 and paint from 1992. These are not daily drivers any more. You owned a turbo carbed 4 cyl from the dark ages. It's expected that the original turbo cars were wet garbage ever owned an 80s Audi?

blablabla my rebranded Mazda will still be running and your buddy's 1980 Capri will be rusting through at Kenny's U pull

My dad had one when they first came out. A 97. What a disaster. Personally I'd get a 4.2 car but if it has 182 on the 4.0 then the timing system has been done or motor replaced. Only scary thing on those are the roofs.. the fluid ate at the lines and they never clogged. Not a cheap or easy repair

Lots of the electrics are period Ford/ Denso. Maintence items are pretty cheap though!

I like how the car is clearly off and the speedometer still shows 10km/h.

Sinon it's a nice car.

Wouldn't have one because I've had experience with classic FIATs but it's a cute car to take to FIAT meets.

Ask me how my experience in the 1980s with a 1971 X-1/9 went. (It wasn't mine, just my best friend's.)
