Sur le plan technique, la LFA est à la fine pointe avec son châssis réalisé à 65 pour cent en fibre de carbone et à 35 pour cent en aluminium, une configuration adoptée en cours de développement, le premier prototype ayant été réalisé sur un châssis tout alu, afin de réduire le poids de la LFA. Cette nouvelle technique de production explique en partie le long délai entre le dévoilement de la voiture-concept LF-A, présentée au Salon de l'auto de Détroit en 2005, et l'arrivée sur le marché du modèle de série, renommé LFA, en 2011.

En terminant, quelques détails importants à l'intention de l'acheteur potentiel (Bonjour, monsieur Laliberté...) Seulement 500 exemplaires de la LFA seront produits au cours des années modèles 2011 et 2012 à l'usine de Motomachi par une équipe de 1 540 techniciens au rythme d'une voiture par jour, et toutes seront construites sur commande aux spécifications de l'acheteur pour ce qui est de la couleur de la carrosserie et de l'habitacle. De ce nombre, dix voitures seront allouées au marché canadien à raison de cinq par année. Le prix a été fixé à 375 000 dollars américains et les acheteurs devront d'abord louer la LFA pendant une période de deux ans avant de pouvoir se prévaloir du droit de l'acheter, histoire de décourager les spéculateurs qui voudraient capitaliser sur l'exclusivité assurée de ce modèle.
 
the red part on the steering is kinda annoying.

other than that, nice car. but little too expensive.
 
crazy. i remember less than ten years ago 0-100 in 3.7 was only done by a few cars, now they can all do that. i agree a bit expensive though
 
why this car can upshift in 0.2 sec while a simple golf GTI can do it in 0.06 sec?
I like the shape of the car, but not a fan of the front and rear ends...

This car is a JOKE. Aside from still being heavy, shifting slower than a GTI, it is no faster than an R8, which BTW starts at $146,000; LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE! Plus it is more than clear that the back of the LFA is a PATHETIC attempt at copying the rear styling of the R8.

Anyone who buys this car is a complete moron. Who cares if they only make 500 to try and be "exclusive"....wake the f*** up and who do you think you are? Lets not even compare this car to the GTR cuz it will get PWNED on every single level imaginable. Im a die hard VW fan but this is as bad of a f*ck up as the VW phaeton, except at least the phaeton was less than 100 grand...

It is a great piece of engineering(or as you call it a "tank"), just that I could think of MANY cars that could smoke the shit out of that one for a lot less money. Could you please explain how my feeling insecure IN ANY WAY is relevant? I dont even know what to say to that cuz that comment was one of the most IRRELEVANT things ive ever read on this forum; and we all know the dumb shit that is said here sometimes. I really just cannot grasp what I would have to feel insecure about? --->FailX3

i would never spend 600k on a lexus, even if it did 0-60 in 2 seconds... im not a big fan of the styling either but they are going to sell all of them just because some poeple have wayyyy too much money

CONGRATULATIONS! You know how to do grade 4 math. You must have been the one the teacher called to the board all the time!
BTW, the v10 R8 has 525 hp and not 518.

Plus, if you notice not once do I say that the R8 outdoes this car in performance. I said it cost less than half for relatively similar power. Being so simple minded, you only looked at those aspects not even taking into consideration that even though they have around 25 hp difference, the R8 surpases the LFA`s torque by almost 50 lbs-ft. Any car guy (or girl in trish`s case) knows that even though hp sells cars, torque wins races. So regardless of the large difference in power to rate ratio, the 0-100 km/h times are 3.7 for the LFA vs 3.9 for the R8...strickingly similar. Anyways, back to my point that I never even got into performance figures for the simple reason that the R8, of course, barely keeps up. Only thing is that it looks 10 times better, more classy, etc...(that's my opinion) and that no sane person could deny the blatant and downright obvious resemblance of the rear ends.(That's a fact)

Now, as a last point to show how useless your simple minded calculations are, I have taken the liberty of adding a variable:

Nissan GTR (Base price $80,000)= $375,000 / $80,000 = 4.69 times less expensive than the LFA

3814 lbs / 480hp = 7.95 lbs/hp
GTR 0-100km/h = 3.5 seconds....
