Congrats to them, for raising such a great amount.. I hope they will have success again this year.
and sorry to hear for their friend... so young...

my girlfriend was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in 2009 at age 31.. very young too.. she underwent 8hr surgery at Jewish General hospital.
she has fully recovered now.. and no signs of it returning sofar.
actually going with her for a Cat Scan today.. which she has to do twice per year, amongst other check ups multiple times per year.

unfortunately Cancer does not discriminate... no one thinks that it will be them.. but we all know someone who has been diagnosed..
dont be so naive to think it will never happen to you..
I dont think they ever expected it would happen to them..

why not play it safe, there is an insurance called Critical illness that can offer you a lump sum benefit ex: $100,000 if you are ever diagnosed with something serious such as Cancer.. see my signature.. and there is detailed description in my forum in the commercial section.

I have helped many members setup their own Critical illness protection plan..
if you want to learn more about how you can protect yourself in such an event.. let me know..

my girlfriend had it.. and she got the payout when she was diagnosed.. made the world of difference for her. she had some balance on her Visa, Line of credit paid off in one shot, didnt have to worry about work, rent etc.. she recovered on her terms...
dont confuse this with disability, that you may have at work.. your disability at work only pays a percentage of your salary each month, whereas Critical illness pays in one lump sum for the amount you purchased, 25k, 50k, 100k and so on.

I have it too.. in this day and age, I wouldnt be without it..

Tony.

Quelle belle initiative!

What great timing, not only does my car need to be washed but ill gladly support the cause. See you there !
