excellent post dude !

it's just incredible the big money 67's are getting right now, even the more mundane versions are cashing in big .......wonder when/if the bubble will burst again ??

yup this is one hell of a vette...36.5 gallon fuel tank..""the tanker"" as they called it..this was originally in the 63 zo6 and it was used to win long indurance races...and the L88 is THE most badass engine ever..95+octane
Extremely rare ..only 20 ever built in 67..The L88 had aluminum heads, 12.5:1 compression, and a single Holley four barrel carb rated at 850 cfm that sat on an aluminum intake manifold with a special raised plenum chamber..also you got a transistor ignition and Positraction differential but didn't get a fan shroud, heater, or defroster and no radio..this vette ran 12 sec on those skinny ass tires and 2'73 gears...put some slicks and 4;10's and this just became a 10 second car..the engine was rated at 430...but actually had close to 600hp*tu* ....the other engine L71 was rated at 435hp..5 more then the L88..the reason was they didnt want every kid with cash to get behind the wheel of a L-88...pretty cool piece of history

one of the baddest engines to me is the 427 all aluminium sleeveless ZL1 with only 2 corvette 68 and 69 camaro 69

an another one is the DOHC 426 Hemi for nascar that was prohibed for race :( and never production made

and the Ford 427 Cammer SOHC with something near 600 hp that was also prohibed of nascar because less than 50 were built

but the L88 is also really famous :)

well the cammer was badass engine..since under 50..then they weren't accepted...they had "hemi" style combustion chambers(hemispherical) and with a single 4barrel carb it put out 616hp!!!!!!AND 7500RPM..WTF that's AMAZING
