I don't normally do this but it's something I'm quite proud of:
I recently had the opportunity to edit and manage the fifth edition of the Mighty Car Mods Magazine.
Yeah I know, most of you probably haven't heard of them but I've been working for them for about two years doing miscellaneous tasks, of which that included writing articles for previous versions of the magazine.
The magazine is ran by the MCM forum staff (of which I am included) as well as guest writers from around the world, with a next to no budget just for the sake of creating an awesome piece of automotive literature that enthusiasts can enjoy. And I'll be honest as each issue goes by it blows me away with the quality we keep cranking out.
Our readership isn't that big currently (around 10,000) and I'm really hoping it'll start to take off soon, which I believe it will.
The quality and design honestly rebel magazines such as the likes of Super Street or Import Tuner but at a fraction of the price. One of the main reasons we do this is because it is currently a digital copy only as hardcopies would cost in excess of $100,000. This is needless to say none of us are deemed professionals by any means so that makes the comparison that much more meaningful.
Since they are digital copies only, we've optimized it for iOS and tablet devices.
It would really mean a lot to me if you guys checked it out, it's only $3 and there is over 100 pages this issue.
All the money goes directly to the show and to fund succeeding magazines.
This issue, however means a great deal to me because I was promoted to editor and managed the entire magazine.
For those who know me it's something I'm quite proud of, being someone of my stature (poor uni student)
I don't plan on editing very many more magazines since the entire process was very long and demanding and when school is back I unfortunately think it'll be too much for me to handle.
I'm not in school studying journalism or to become an english major, I simply write for the love of writing because I get to express myself in a manner relevant to one of my favorite things in the world: the car scene. When my talents get picked up by people like Farm Of Minds and when trust is instilled in my by MCM it's really a cool thing.
If you don't grab this issue, you'll have a chance again to check out my next issue which may be one of my last.
Just so you guys know, there are a couple easter eggs hidden in the magazine that relate to MR.
I'll some hints: A certain sticker on the back of a 180sx and the other hint is a certain MR members car may be getting a full feature in the upcoming months (not this current issue.)
Anyways, the link is right here for those interested, it would me a lot to me!
