I have a 2016 Ford Fiesta SE equiped with a manual transmission. The car is in an overall really good shape and has only 100k KM.
My question is: Should I repair or replace the transmission?
Do you know any reputable shop for repair? I'm in Verdun, so as long as it's less than 30-45 minutes away.
First gear tend to pop out when accelerating from standstill IF shifted from neutral previously.
BUT If I downshift from second gear, all is good, first gear stays engaged.
If I start from second gear, all is good.
I have the same problem with the reverse gear.
It seems to point to a faulty 1st/2nd gear synchro assembly.
If I replace:
I need to source a working transmission + clutch + labour
If I repair :
Parts seems cheaps, but the transmission need to be opened + clutch + removal/installation labour.
