So here's what happened to my E90 lately, maintenance wise P/S steering pump was replaced along with the tensioner and idler...

Alternateur?
Thanks man, read on the internet yesterday about the alternator, this is the next thing I will try out!For fun disconnect the B+ on the alternator.. 13mm nut. I've seen faulty voltage regulators pull stupid amount of current. A light or such wouldn't pull that much but a bad window motor would..
Woah 12A?!
I would let the car sit for a little while with the engine cold (and the whole car preferably at night) and use an infra red thermometer.
12a will give a lot of heat and be easy to find the hot component or relay.

Found the electrical problem on my m3, insane story.
To make it short, the battery was crushing a few wires. These wires were creating a short (initial short). Then the heat created by that short created a hole in the battery. So there was a whole cell of the battery in the bottom of my trunk... This was making the short even worst since it was now submerged in battery acid...
Cleaned the trunk, bought a new battery and made my tests, everything is fine. When I get more time, I'll put the back together and I'll be ready to roll
