Yep. Seats are 11lbs each and wheels are 19lbs each

lol

A lot of fail unfortunately...Varrstoen sent me the wrong wheels. They sent me 5x114.3 instead of a set of 4x114.3. On the plus side, they've been great in dealing with the situation and making it as easy as possible to complete the switch. Also, they're compensating me for my lost time with a set of free open ended lug nuts (red), free hubcentric adapters, and free aluminum valve stems (red). So it's a set back, but it should work out in the end.

Nice to see Varrstoen being accountable & throwing in goodies to offset their bad *tu* Wheels look awesome man!! Can't wait to see them pics with 'em installed!

Conquering yesterday's snow storm. This car is hands down the most epic winter car I've ever had!

J'ai jamais essayé quelque chose qui allait mieu qu'un EVO 1-2-3 dans la neige !!

Et oui c'est un 4g63t dans un evo

Y en a tu des LHD ?

Non.

Just ordered more parts:

-New Ralliart Trailing arm bushings
-New revised hydraulic lifters
-New Cable shifter bushings
-New Pivot shifter bushings
-Extended wheel studs (1.15 inches longer than stock)
-OEM Valve Cover Gasket Kit
-Spark plugs

All of this should be arriving tomorrow or Thursday from RTM Racing (amazing shop in Ontario!)

I should have my replacement wheels by next Thursday from Varrstoen. Should be ready to do the lifters, spark plugs, and a much needed oil change on the 20th! I think I'll save the installation of all bushings and control arms until after the winter as there isn't any benefit of doing them now and putting them through the winter lol.

You must have some good contacts to get those parts lol

Took me a while to find some good supplier in the US and Canada lol.

Good news, Ground Control also shipped my suspension already and it should arrive at my house late next week along with my wheels!

Now I just need tires before I can start fitting and measuring for the fenders and cutting!

Looking for a good deal on any of the following tires or a similar tire in 245/40/17:

Hankook R-S3
RE-11
Dunlop Direza ZII

So time for a big update. I've been on vacation since last Thursday which has given me enough free time to start doing some work on the EVO! Also I should mention that in the past 3 weeks, the engine would tick randomly very loudly, and then go away. Wasn't dependent on oil pressure, temperature, revs, etc. Did some research and found out that the 4G63 have hydraulic lifters that tend to stick when they get old. After doing some more research, I found that there was a revision on the OEM part, and everyone uses whats called the 3mm revised lifters. So I ordered some new lifters, and the other parts came in!

Some parts from RTM Racing in Ontario:
-Extended Wheel studs
-New spark plugs
-New OEM Trailing arm bushings
-Revised 3mm lifters
-New Valve cover gasket kit

In an effort to make me happy, and rectify the wheel mess up situation, Varrstoen sent me the following free of charge...very happy about this as it's all things I would've needed. While I did have to ask for something, Varrstoen was very willing to accommodate me and try to make me happy. The return went flawlessly and I'm very happy with the outcome...wouldn't hesitate to recommend Varrstoen to a friend.
They hooked me up with:
-Open ended red lug nuts
-Red valve stems
-Hubcentric adapters

Then I got these from Ground Control. Custom build for the EVO with with 450/350 spring rates and camber adjustable top pillow ball mounts

The next one is going to be a long story lol. So when I bought the car, the hood was hacked up. Seeing as it's nearly impossible to find a hood for an EVO 1 around here, and I'm sure as hell not going to ship one, I figured I would try to patch it up best I could. The biggest issue with the hood is that the old owner seemed to have installed hood pins, but removed them and did a TERRIBLE job at bondo-ing them up. I mean terrible lol...pics to come. Anyways, so I decided i would try to source the BIGGEST hood pins I could find to hide the damage the old owner did. Found these, measured them up, and they should hide the hood imperfections 100%!

Sooooo, now that I've got a boat load of parts, I figured I would start installing some. First order of business was the lifters as they were driving me nuts. Removed the valve cover, everything seemed in order:

Notice how HUGE the difference is in the oil ports for the old and new lifters:

Bolted everything back up, installed new spark plugs and gasket kit, changed the oil, and went for a drive in the snow storm...once all the lifters pressurized, no more ticking! Car sounds and runs like new again! I may or may not have decided to go driving where the snow was higher than the hood of the car lol

Next order of business was to try and fit the Status seats I had picked up. Got the side mounts and the sliders from Perry performance. Great price, great service! So I took the OEM seats out and immediately noticed an issue....Stupid me, I didn't purchase any floor mount plates. So my OEM sliders clearly weren't bolting to the floor. But then I noticed that the OEM rails simply unbolted from the OEM seats...super clean as if Mitsubishi figured people would probably want to change out the seats lol.

So one seat out, ready for test fitting...

Realized my Universal side mounts would need some "customizing" to mount to the OEM rails... So I drilled a few holes

And finally, voila! Status seats on OMP mounts, on OEM rails!

Going to leave the driver's seat OEM for now, as the seat is tight, and I won't be able to fit in it with snow pants etc lol. Plus I don't want to put unnecessary wear on the seat during winter.

So that's it for now! Decided that I would wait until March to install any new bushings or control arms. Currently on the look out for a good deal on tires. Once that's done, I'll be installing suspension, test fitting wheels, and taking measurements for spacers and fenders...then order fenders and start chopping up the fenders!

Looking forward to the fender operation!

How was the lifter replacement job? Thinking about doing it in the spring.

Lifter job was actually very very easy once you get the hang of popping the rockers off and back on. I followed a DIY that didnt involve cam removal which saved a lot of time

how are those hood pins? I'm looking for some.. would you recommend?

They look good...I'll be installing them around March so I'll be able to give more details at that point

This build is awesome
