Unless they come up with some thing in the same line as Gangnam Style, then no, Quebec artists do not have what it takes to make it to international stardom as long as they make French music. The language barrier is very limiting. One might argue the same thing with Latin music, but let's face it, Latin music is mostly listened to world-wide because of it's beats and rhythms, not lyrics...and even at that, there are twice as many Spanish speaking people in the world as French speaking ones (assuming all French speaking nations across the world would be willing to listen to Quebec French), so that helps the broaden the audience.

However, there are many examples of Quebec artist reaching world wide fame, they're just English-speaking/performing.

Celine Dion (While technically of French origin, she reached world-wide fame because of her English material)
Arcade Fire
We are Wolves (on the way there)
Half Moon Run (on the way there)
Corey Hart
David Usher/Moist
 
Good post Joey. French music never quite reached me in any way...Especially music from around here..I dont know, its just...maybe the reason is that it doesnt sound ''foreign''.
 
Les deux SOZI ont le talent pour jouer avec les mots et les syllabes. Le contenu est top notch au Québec.

Ils méritent qu'on en parle dans ce thread la : Les jumeaux Pelletier (Les Sozi). Les gars sont vraiment correct, très présent dans la culture lowider, j'ai deja organiser des event dans des bar avec eux et luxurious.
