Cest ca qui me ferais hésiter à bouger.
I actually like Montreal, its not perfect but it aint half bad. While Caracas certainly looks nice and I am certain its a lovely place to visit. But the thing is that once you move to a place after a while you begin to see the faults of it. You focused on the pretty parts of the city, buts thats to be expected seen as you most like visited the city for a few days. Did you know that Venezuela and its capital, Caracas, are reported to both have among the highest per capita murder rates in the world. Most murders and other violent crimes go unsolved. The poor neighborhoods that cover the hills around Caracas are dangerous at all times. While you are most likely going to be safe from this being a White Male coming from "America" which means you have both privilege and money lol. Still I bet you didnt think of it. Here are some pictures to show you a different side of this beautiful city of yours.

Thing about Quebec that I have come to respect is that we have some of the best social services in the world. No make who you are and where you come from your Children will have a chance at success. Education is very cheap here. We have welfare and employment insurance along with other social services. Montreal also is very diverse in terms of ethnic communities.
Just saying OP, theres a reason people from around the world including Venezuela immigrate to Canada and Montreal. Our city isn't perfect but it ain't half bad either.
The car community here ain't half bad either
Just saying OP, dont lose faith in your City just yet.
Yeah Montreal is actually really good. We really do complain about social services but reality is that they're some of the best in the world. The weather is not always good but overall it's a GREAT place to live.
On another note, moving out of the country really made me realise how immigration sucks ass and how the government has stupid rules about it. The single hardest thing to move to the UK was getting a work permit, the rules are the same for everybody wether you're from the US, Canada, Pakistan, Japan, Australia. Highly skilled immigrants move to a country and can immediately contribute to the economy by paying taxes, they have no recourse to public funds and cost nothing in schooling to their host country, why not free it up a little bit ?
