lool

Also pretty sure there are a bunch of cars that are louder stock for stock (M5 Comp with sport exhaust backfires).

^^ tout est expliquee.
Juste a bien lire le tout.

L'article n'explique rien, garbage.

The California Highway Patrol is set to update the code with a new standard test that was introduced in May 2020, but it has yet to come into effect. So for the time being, enthusiasts in the Golden State will have to settle for the seven-speed PDK automatic transmission.

If M5 did not change in 2022 it doesn't have to pass the test...
It's only for new homologations. And only temporary...but still funny.
So if M5 was 2020 homologated it is safe, even if it is louder ( as per you) .

True Story, gears ratios on road cars are determined by certain emission tests. Sometimes you end up with wonky gears like a 2nd gear that's too close to first and too far from third. Makes no sense whatsoever except to tick the box of a certain test. Ever wonder why some cars have such long gears for example ? C6 corvette for example that you can go to most tracks and use only 2nd and 3rd...

Just do like everyone in CA... Register the car in Montana under an LLC or Texas. CA is a shithole state. It's so bad that some of our friends left CA and moved back to Quebec... Read up on the proposed tax changes including a retroactive luxury tax LOL
