Après une décennie de planification et quatre années de construction, la nouvelle configuration de l’échangeur Décarie arrive à terme. Le projet de 100 millions de dollars avait pour but d’accroître la sécurité et la fluidité de la circulation dans l’échangeur et autour de ce dernier.
Les travaux devaient être complétés en septembre 2012 et ont duré deux années de plus qu’initialement prévu (êtes-vous surpris de cela?).
La nouvelle configuration ne plaît malheureusement pas à tout le monde. Un de nos usagers, Gollum, mentionne qu’un des objectifs de ce changement était d’alléger la circulation dans la voie de gauche au niveau de la sortie 15 Nord en direction de la 40 Ouest, ce qui ne s’est pas concrétisé selon lui. D’autres membres sont quant à eux satisfaits de la configuration. Membre darkestfenix, qui travaille pour le MTQ, nous fournit une autre perspective de la situation.

The work was supposed to have been completed by September 2012 and has so far taken two full years longer than anticipated (is that really a surprise to anyone, anywhere)?
But now that vehicles have been using the new configuration, not everyone is thrilled. Forum member Gollum points out that one of the intended goals in the video below was the alleviate traffic in the left lane of the 15N to exit for HWY 40 West. This hasn’t happened, he writes. Other members are writing that they like the new configuration. Member darkestfenix works for the MTQ and is providing a different perspective.
