Nissan Canada intends to launch the Micra Cup rcing series next spring in the province of Quebec. There will be five events in which competitors will undergo a 30-minute trial, a 30-minute qualifying session and two additional races of 30 minutes.
The cars will have to be purchased from Nissan for $19,998 but this price will include all modifications and the vehicles will be race-ready. Modifications include a NISMO-tuned suspension, racing seat, five-point harness, fire extinguisher, exhaust, high-performance brake pads, a roll cage, window net, tow hooks and new wheels & tires.
The motor will remain stock, however which means racers will need to be content with the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes only 109 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque.
