So whats the deal if you refuse to stop for them? Violating peace officer? Or refuse to ID yourself if youve never heard of them?

Caméras can enforce speed

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

People know where the cameras are and they'll slow down in that particular area and then pick up their speed.

The only way to slow down the traffic everywhere on our roads is to have ''surprise'' speed enforcement where people don't expect them.

Take Italy for exemple. I have never seen so many speed cameras everywhere. In a small town you can have 4-6 cameras on a few kilometers. But where there are none, people are driving like real maniacs. And you don't see any cops anywhere enforcing speed limits.

Avg Speed cameras work well on highways. I know the cops in my area always hid in the same spots as well so its the same as where the camera is. My wife 1st cousin is SQ and hates doing radar traps from the safety aspect

Slowing down traffic in cities can be achieved without speed limits. The design speed of roads is the problem… roads were made for a 50-60kph limit then reduced over time but nothing much was done to reduce the actual design limit

Probably very expensive though and maybe not that effective.
Again, when I see roads in Europe with roundabouts, small narrow streets and double bends everywhere and that people still manage to keep the pedal to the floor and drive like crazy.

I'm thinking there could be some ways to do this too, but it would involve lots a innovations and technology.

Basically, I was just going to say what Greg said.
So either you are very old , got your driver's license here, or from some other part of the world where they drive even worse than here.
:). With all my respect.
I am still blown away daily, by how bad 90% + of the drivers are.
Considering in most European countries you get a ticket for not using your turning signal...I think it says a lot about how " good " you must be , in order to pass the exam.

Idiots exist in Europe but the concentration of them is lower than here. Basically trying to use european driving logic here will cause an accident. I got honked and yelled at for stopping at a yellow light yesterday. I told the person to leave 5 mins earlier and this intersection people at the other light always blow their red. I spend 4-6 weeks a year in EU and its just based upon my experience.

Driving here is cheap and so is getting a license. Driving quality has deteriorated massively in recent years. Id say about 1/4 of problems here is with road design. Too many stop signs, red lights and strange conflicts

Idiots exist all over the world. Not only here or in Europe or in Africa. Everywhere there are people that " can drive " and respect the others on the road and then, there are the rest of the drivers.
Not all the " European " drivers in Canada, are good drivers either.
But a bad driver in Europe will fail and fail and fail again the exam, that in the end he/she might give up and take the bus/metro/walk.
Here...an Indian ( could be other race too of course ) that never drove a car or bicycle in his life, pays and gets a truck driver license. And he is on the road !!!
