There was tons of sick stuff that day...coward soldiers getting shot by their own superiors for trying to escape the shipments, soldiers having to use german dead bodies ammunition, and then shot at by partners because german weapons had a distinctive sounds etc...

No need to think, it's a fact! The Germans were on the run by June '44. They got clobbered in Stalingrad, failed to take Leningrad and clobbered again at Kursk.
D-Day was just another very long nail in their coffins. And it relieved a lot of pressure of the Russians.
