Hi guys,

I need to find a new tv for my old man, he wants the biggest possible, what are my options ? I know pretty much everyone makes 62 but he'd like bigger if possible without going the projector route. Recommendations ?

doesnt matter, as long as its a flat screen (goes over his fireplace)

Do you want it flat or thin, because a 12 inch thick flat tv is not going to be the best over a fireplace.

Also I wouldn't recommand putting a tv over a fireplace if you want to watch tv for extended period of time. It's too high and will cause incofort in your neck.

he's got a rediculously heavy 10 year old LG plasma on right now. SO I think hes going to keep the same wall mount (its drilled through brick)

What tv is that on the picture ??

I'll look into the sony, 70 is surely enough for him

hes been watching tv like that for 10 years, loves it.

We're liquidating the Sharp 65" Aquos at my work if you're interested... Could probably get a killer price! PM me if you're interested or pass by my work and see me, I'll refer you to someone.

We also may have a 60" Pioneer Kuro we need to get rid of...

How big and heavy his the old TV ?

The stand won't be able to support the TV if he pass from a 42" to 65"

I'm gonna read on the sony, but if its a POS, then its a waste of money. Munchy I'll come see you soon, can you gimme an idea on how much the sharp will run me ?

Originally we wanted a Pioneer Elite, but they don't o bigger than 65, thats out the window...
