[:fr]Nick Van Tol, résident de l’Alberta, a vu sa vie être chamboulé par le tragique feu de forêt à Fort McMurray, en Alberta. Originaire de la région de la Gaspésie, au Québec, il a vécu à Fort McMurray durant les 3 dernières années, prenant avantage du boom pétrolier.
Nick fut forcé d’évacuer avec tout les monde quand le feu de forêt a ravagé la ville du nord de l’Alberta. N’ayant nul part où aller, il a fait le trajet en voiture pour revenir au Québec avec son camion Dodge RAM, arrivant au domicile de sa mère le 14 mai. Nick n’as toujours pas de nouvelle concernant son domicile à Fort McMurray.
Deux jours plus tôt il fut intercepté par la Sûreté du Québec, dans sa ville natale de Bonaventure, Qc, et lui ont indiqué que sa suspension est non-conforme. Il leur a expliqué que ce type de modification augmentant la hauteur de caisse du camion est légale en Alberta, et qu’ayant vécu au travers de ce qui se passait, le ramener au spécifications d’origine n’était pas sa priorité. Son camion d’ailleurs avait toujours des plaques d’immatriculations de l’Alberta.
Toutefois, la SQ ne fit pas preuve de clémence envers Nick et à procéder à l’émission d’un constant d’infraction de 311 $. Une requête de commentaires a été effectué envers la Sûreté du Québec, mais aucune réponse n’as été reçu au moment d’écrire cet article.

[:en]Alberta resident Nick Van Tol recently had his life turned upside down by the tragic and ongoing wildfires in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Originally from the Gaspésie region of Quebec, he had lived in Fort McMurray for the last three years, taking advantage of the oil boom.
Nick was forced to evacuate along with everyone else when the current forest fire ravaged the northern Alberta town. With literally nowhere else to go, he drove all the way back to Quebec from Alberta with his Ram pickup truck, arriving at his mother’s place on May 14th. Nick still has no idea as to the status of his home.
Two days ago he was pulled over by the Surêté du Québec in his hometown of Bonaventure, Qc who told him his suspension was illegal. He explained to them that this type of lifted setup was legal in Alberta and that having lived through the terrifying ordeal, changing it had not been at the top of his priorities. His truck still has Alberta license plates.
Nevertheless, the police showed no leniency toward Nick and proceeded to issue him a ticket for $311. A request for comment was made to the Surête du Quebec but no reply has been received yet.
