MontrealRacing.com has learned that the SPVM is working to better the way its officers handle interactions with modified vehicles.
A document is being drafted which aims to help officers better understand and more effectively deal with vehicles that have been modified illegally. It has not been determined yet if this will be a public guide or simply an internal directive given only to police.
The good news is that MontrealRacing.com may have an opportunity to participate in the process. In 2007 we worked with the SPVM in a similar fashion in order to educate the public on what constitutes an illegal modification.

We have asked to participate and will let you know of any developments. The timeline on any new developments is likely toward the end of 2014 but probably not before 2015.
