I had the misfortune of being in a rush and deciding to take the Autoroute 25 toll bridge a few weeks ago. Knowing the fees would be exorbitant, I decided to suck it up anyways. Upon receiving the bill, it’s always a shock at just how much a private company thinks they can charge you for the convenience of driving on a public road.
The bill came to $7.08 for a one way trip! The advertised price of $1.88 but unfortunately they didn’t bother to put a toll booth so you need to pay admin charges each time you cross. A round trip would be double the admin charges!
Autoroute 30 in Vaudreuil does it the correct way – with a toll booth! You swipe your credit card and it’s $2.00 each way.
Members have been venting their frustration for years in this thread. What do you think? Am I a complainer who needs to shut up or is this ridiculous?
