Could The Coronavirus Cancel Autoshows In Montreal This Summer?

The New York Autoshow which was scheduled for April, has been delayed until the month of August.

“We are taking this extraordinary step to help protect our attendees, exhibitors and all participants from the coronavirus,” Mark Schienberg, president of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, said in an emailed statement.

While we are lucky to have a robust universal healthcare system in Canada, it’s logical to assume that there will be some disruption as the virus spreads in the coming weeks.

Just how disruptive the virus will be for Canadians remains to be seen but could we see an impact on the various events that we car enthusiasts love to attend.

It’s possible, but unlikely.

Outdoor events are probably less likely to be breeding grounds for the virus. Furthermore, we are still months away from summer and hopefully the worst will be over.

We will be on the lookout for any potential event cancellations and be on top of the story.
