One of my clients had just left the shop after a service on his RX8, the car as a subtle drop on HR coil overs, a magnaflow exhaust line and after market wheels running Micheline Pilot Sports, the front 235 40 19 on a 19x8.5 and rear 255 40 19 on 19x9.5. Hes the first to admit the exhaust is illegal and doesnt mind the ticket for that but the fact they nailed him for stretch tires, lowered suspension, and towed the car has him infuriated. Here is a picture of said wheels....

When will the ignorance stop?

I'm ok with the idea of stretched tire tickets.

But the cops should check what the narrowest and widest wheels a tire fits on before throwing around tickets

Scotti, wold you mind posting pictures of all the side wall series? Would be great if we could print this and keep a copy in our cars in case cops decide to question the validity of our claims on "being within spec"

x2

You can always go on your tire manufacturer website or tirerack and on your model of tire. They usually have the tolerances of the tire. Its good to have but eitherway if the cop really wants to ticket you he will..same for an inspection. They dont care
