If you want a viable alternative it has to be high speed, not high frequency. That corridor is too important for business, make it competitive vs flying and this thing will be full every day of the week.We took Via to Toronto. The new Venture train-sets are lovely and onboard service is great in business class. However we arrived into Toronto nearly 2 hours late… Absolutely absurd we don’t have a dedicated passenger rail. It doesn’t even need to be high speed just need to maintain a half decent line speed of 140-160kph would be a massive upgrade.

The rolling stock soaks up the rails much nicer than the LRC cars. Hats off to you guys for keeping a heritage mainline railway workingLe QSK95 V16 quadturbo debadger dans panne esti
I really like the Montreal-Toronto train to catch a flight. More relaxing, not that long vs plane etc..We took Via to Toronto. Now imagine if it was high speed, there would be no need for planes to YTZ.I really like the Montreal-Toronto train to catch a flight. More relaxing, not that long vs plane etc..
100% d’accord, surtout que je reste à 5 minutes à pied du métro Jarry. C’est cool de partir à pied de la maison pour me rendre jusqu’à GrenadeNow imagine if it was high speed, there would be no need for planes to YTZ.
Still US traffic and regional stuff. Im not even sure a high speed line would go into toronto or Montreal proper. Big issue is electrification of the line once you get into Montreal or TorontoNow imagine if it was high speed, there would be no need for planes to YTZ.
Have you looked at staying in Nyon Crans or Thonon les bains? Geneve is a really small city but well connected by rail. We spend a good amount of time in the area. If you aren’t interested in Colmar, there is Annecy which is nice as well.Wanted to go to Geneva instead of Colmar, but prices for a well located 2 room appartment are nuts
I'm happy to go to Colmar, was just stating our initial plan did not include it. We ar eonly staying one week, so it'll go by pretty quickHave you looked at staying in Nyon Crans or Thonon les bains? Excuse my ignorance, but what is the advantage ? A plane ticket is about 200$ and I assume this is priced similar ? Not even talking business...but regular ticket. I'm thinking only time advantage and I m satisfied...1h vs...We took Via to Toronto. The new Venture train-sets are lovely and onboard service is great in business class. I booked the trip about a month ago as I wanted to try the new trains. Also with the weather it worked out great considering the amount of flights cancelled. It was fun but yes next time will fly. I paid around 375$ round trip business class. Prices are very similar but the train was a nice and relaxing experience. I spend enough time in airports. Ok and? That’s flying into YYZ you still need to get into the city I could have flown into YTZ no issues but opted for the train. It literally has 0 effect on you. Anyways worked out good as there were a shit ton of cancellations flight wise due to the storm

Time to add you back on the ignore list
