[:fr]En lisant certains des commentaires sur mon article «Les gros ailerons sont de nouveau à la mode» ainsi que des commentaires sur la zone de performance au Salon de l’Auto de Montréal je me pose la question suivante: comment peut-il y avoir autant de haine envers les gens qui personnalisent leurs propres véhicules ?
Je me rends compte que chacun a ses propres préférences et ses propres goûts sur la façon dont une voiture doit être modifiée et cette diversité est bénéfique pour notre communauté. Mais ne devrions-nous pas permettre aux gens de modifier leurs voitures sans crainte d’une attaque en ligne de personnes qui pourraient être en désaccord avec leur choix de modifications?
Je vois cela souvent après avoir posté des photos de voitures modifiées principalement pour le look esthétique. Cependant, je vois rarement cela après la publication d’un véhicule qui a été modifié strictement mécaniquement.
En tant qu’enthousiastes, nous devrions tous essayer d’apprécier toutes les formes de participation à la communauté, qu’il s’agisse de «all show» ou de «all go».

[:en]Reading some of the comments about my earlier post “Big Wings Are Back In Style” as well as comments about the Performance Zone at the Montreal Auto Show I find myself asking the question how there can be so much hate toward people who customize their own vehicles?
I realize that everyone has their own preferences and own tastes on how a car should be modified and this diversity makes our community great. But shouldn’t we allow people to modify their cars without fear of an online onslaught from people who might disagree with their choice of mods?
I see this a lot after posting photos of cars modified mostly for show. However I rarely see this after posting a vehicle which has been modified to strictly go fast.
As enthusiasts we should all try and appreciate all forms of participation in the community weather it be “all show” or “all go”.
