youre wrong.... maybe those are the only cars with the sr20det, but sentras, even old old ones have sr20de

Nope actually.

Bludbirds had DET's (Altima)
Primera's had DET's (G20)
Pulsar GTI-R had a DET (Hence the GTI-R DET's)

Not the US versions but Japan, europe and I think Australia had them.

The Japanese sentra's where Sunny's, there was also a Sunny GTI-R though Im not sure which engine it had exactly.

They are all AWD though I beleive, DET's where never made in FWD unless Im mistaken.

When you get them here they always come with an AWD tranny and most of the time Automatic. Except for the S1* DET's of course, which where RWD.

what surprises me is why nissan didnt use the SR series of engines in most of their cars like theyre doing now with the VQ series engine. i for sure wouldnt have minded.

no, 95-96 = s14a
97-98 = s14b

and for s13,
89-90 = s13a (SOHC 140hp)
91-94 = s13b (DOHC 155hp)

(i do own a 1992 (s13b) 240sx coupe)

Just thought I would clear this up so people aren't misinformed. The "a" and "b" info was wrong. "b"s were first, then "a" meant "After minor change". Theya can also be referred to as chouki and zenki, but that is even more confusing.

89-90=s13b the only ones with SOHC. Fast back or coupe.
91-93=s13a Fast back or coupe.
94=s13a All were convertible and automatic.

95-96=s14b coupe only
97-98=s14a coupe only

That should clear things up a bit.
